Battery Saver
- This function is designed to prevent battery discharge.
This system automatically turns off the lights when the driver removes the key from the ignition (smart key: engine off) and opens the door.
- Open the driver's door.
- Turn the parking lights off and on again using the light switch on the steering column.
Delayed Lights-Off Function (if equipped)
After removing the ignition key, with the engine off, the headlights (and/or parking lights) remain on for about 20 minutes.
However, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the lights turn off after 30 seconds.
To turn off the headlights, simply press the lock button on the remote (or smart key) twice, or move the light switch from the headlight position to the AUTO position.
WARNING If the driver exits the vehicle through a door other than the driver's door, the battery saver function is not activated and the delayed lights-off function does not turn off automatically. As a result, the battery may discharge. In this case, be sure to turn off the lights before leaving the vehicle.Welcome Lighting Function (if equipped)
When the headlight switch is in ON or AUTO position and all doors (and the tailgate) are closed and locked, pressing the unlock button on the remote (or smart key) turns on the headlights for about 15 seconds.
If the headlight switch is in AUTO position, this function operates only at night.
At this point, pressing the unlock or lock button on the remote (or smart key) again turns the headlights off immediately.
Daytime Running Lights (if equipped)
Daytime running lights (DRL) make your vehicle more visible during the day. The DRL system can be helpful in many situations, particularly after sunrise and before sunset.
The DRL system turns off the headlights when:
- The light switch or headlight switch is in ON.
- The engine is off or the ignition is in ACC.
