Operating conditions

  • The system turns on when the rear parking assist OFF button indicator is not illuminated (if equipped). To turn off the rear parking assist system, press the rear parking assist OFF button again. (The indicator on this button will turn on.) To turn the system back on, press the button again.
(The indicator on this button will turn off.)
  • The system operates when reversing with the ignition switch in the ON position. If the vehicle is moving faster than 10 km/h (6 mph), the system may not operate properly.
  • When the rear parking assist system is on, its effective detection range is approx. 120 cm (47 in.).
  • If the sensors detect more than two objects at the same time, the closest object is given priority.

    • Types of Warning Sounds

    • When an object is 120 cm to 81 cm (47 in. to 32 in.) from the rear bumper: the buzzer beeps intermittently.
    • When an object is 80 cm to 41 cm (31 in. to 16 in.) from the rear bumper: the buzzer beeps more frequently.
    • When an object is less than 40 cm (15 in.) from the rear bumper: the buzzer sounds continuously.
