  1. Before closing the hood, check:
  • All engine bay caps must be properly installed.
  • Remove any gloves, rags, or all other flammable materials from the engine compartment.
  1. Reinsert the support rod into its clip to prevent it from rattling.
  2. Lower the hood to about 30 cm above the closed position and let it drop.

Make sure it is securely latched. WARNING
  • Before closing the hood, make sure that all objects have been removed from the hood opening.

Closing the hood with objects in its opening may cause property damage or serious personal injury.

  • Do not leave gloves, rags or any other flammable items in the engine compartment. They may cause a fire due to heat.
  • Always double-check that the engine hood is securely latched before driving.

If it is not latched, it may lift up while the vehicle is moving, causing a complete loss of visibility, which may lead to an accident.

  • The support rod must be fully inserted into its hole whenever the engine compartment is being inspected.

This will prevent the hood from falling and protect you from possible injury.

  • Do not drive the vehicle with the hood raised, as visibility is restricted and the hood may fall or be damaged.
