The headrests of the Lexus GS provide not only comfort but also an additional measure of safety. This chapter explains the height, tilt and, on some models, horizontal adjustment options as well as how to remove and install the headrests. It particularly emphasizes correct positioning at ear height and the importance of functioning headrests for protection in rear-end collisions. In this way, passive safety is optimally supported.

All seats are equipped with headrests.

GS F: The front seat headrests are integrated into the seatbacks and cannot be adjusted.

WARNING

Precautions for the Headrests

Observe the following precautions regarding the headrests. Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.

  • Use only the headrests designed for the respective seat.
  • Always adjust the headrests to the correct position.
  • After adjusting the headrests, press on them and make sure they are securely locked in place.
  • Never drive without headrests.

The headrests in the Lexus GS GRL1 (2016–2020) provide optimal protection and comfort. On most models, they can be adjusted in height and tilt, allowing individual fitting to the driver or passenger. This supports safety during sudden braking maneuvers or accidents.

The high-quality workmanship of the headrests underlines the premium character of the Lexus GS and ensures long-lasting comfort.
