When adjusting the seat

Power Ingress/Egress Assist
The driver's seat and steering wheel move depending on the engine switch mode and the status of the driver's seat belt. The passenger seat moves rearward when the passenger door is opened.
WARNING
When adjusting the seat position
- Adjust the seat position carefully to make sure that other occupants are not injured by a moving seat.
- To avoid injury, do not reach under the seat or near moving parts. Fingers or hands could become trapped in the seat mechanism.
Seat Adjustment
Do not recline the backrest more than necessary, to avoid the risk of sliding under the lap belt in a collision.
If the backrest is reclined too far, the lap belt may slide up over your hips and restraint forces would act directly on your abdomen, or your neck could come under the shoulder belt. In a collision, this increases the risk of fatal or serious injury.
Do not adjust the seat while driving. The seat may move unexpectedly and you could lose control of the vehicle.
WARNING
Adjusting the Passenger Seat from the Driver's Seat (if equipped)
Never adjust the passenger seat while a passenger is seated in it. No one should sit in the passenger seat while it is being adjusted. A passenger's legs could otherwise become trapped between the instrument panel and the seat, which may result in injury.
When adjusting the seat position or the footrest (if equipped)
Make sure your feet have enough clearance so they cannot become trapped.
When using the footrest (if equipped)
- Do not adjust the footrest while driving. Otherwise, fatal or serious injury may result in the event of sudden braking or a collision.
- Do not sit on the passenger seat footrest. Otherwise, the seat belts may not be worn correctly, which may result in fatal or serious injury in the event of sudden braking or a collision.
- Do not stand on the footrest. The footrest could be damaged, or you could fall and seriously injure yourself.
- Stow the footrest when getting in or out of the vehicle, or when it is not in use, to avoid tripping over it.
- Make sure no one has their hands or feet under the passenger seat when the footrest is being stowed.
Adjusting the Passenger Seat from the Driver's Seat (if equipped)
Before adjusting the passenger seat, make sure there is no luggage or other objects on the seat or in the footwell that could interfere with seat operation.
Such objects could cause excessive force to be applied, which may damage the seat and/or the luggage.
How to Avoid Footrest Malfunctions (if equipped)
- Do not place objects in the passenger footwell that could interfere with footrest operation.
- Do not place heavy luggage on the footrest.
- Do not place objects under the footrest when it is in use.
Objects may become trapped when the footrest is stowed, which may cause damage.
