CAUTION

  • After fast, high-speed driving or climbing a long grade, let the engine idle for at least 30 seconds before switching it off. Otherwise the turbocharger may be damaged. However, when the i-stop function is operating, it is not necessary to let the engine idle.
  • Driving at excessive engine speeds, especially immediately after starting the engine, may damage the turbocharger.
  • To protect the engine from damage, it is designed to prevent driving at excessive engine speeds immediately after starting at extremely low temperatures.

The turbocharger has a major effect on increasing engine output. Its modern design ensures efficient operation and minimizes maintenance.

For optimum performance of your turbocharged engine, follow the guidelines below:

1. Replace the engine oil and oil filter according to the Scheduled Maintenance Plan (page 6-3).

2. Use only the recommended engine oil (page 6-23). Do not use engine oil additives.
