Wheel cover (if fitted)
Remember that when removing the wheel cover, a puller supplied with the vehicle must be used to prevent damage to it.
When fitting the cover, make sure it is positioned so that it does not block the tire valve.
WARNING Batteries produce flammable gas - hydrogen. A flame or spark near the battery may cause an explosion. Do not smoke when working near the battery. WARNING When checking or servicing the battery, disconnect the negative ("-") cable. Take care not to cause a short circuit by touching a metal object to the battery terminal and the vehicle at the same time. WARNING To avoid injury to yourself or damage to the vehicle or battery, follow the jump starting instructions in the "Emergency situations" section if it is necessary to start the vehicle from an external power source.
The battery electrolyte level must always be kept between the "UPPER" and "LOWER" marks. If the level is below the "LOWER" mark, add distilled water up to the "UPPER" mark. Check the battery, its terminals and the battery holder periodically for corrosion. Clean any corroded area with a stiff brush and a water solution of ammonia or baking soda. Then rinse with clean water.
If the vehicle is not to be used for one month or longer, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal to reduce battery discharge.
