Air Flow Meter

The control valve (arrow), visible in the air opening of the air flow meter, should move slightly. The electrical check of the air flow meter is performed at the connector contacts, which are visible at the top of the air flow meter housing in this illustration.

The illustration shows the air duct (2) removed from inside the air filter housing to make the ambient air temperature sensor (1) more visible. It is located slightly further back in the air flow meter housing bolted here.

PROCEDURE

Remove the wire terminal from the air flow meter.

Viewed from above, the contact tabs are numbered from left to right, 1 to 4.

Potentiometer: connect an ohmmeter between the center contacts 2 and 3.

Move the control valve while observing the ohmmeter.

The resistance should change.

Connect the ohmmeter between contacts 3 and 4.

The resistance value should be between 0.5 and 1 kΩ.

If the measured values differ, replace the air flow meter.
