Brake Disc Thickness Measurement
PROCEDURE
1. Mark the position of the wheel relative to the hub with paint. This allows the balanced wheel to be reinstalled in its original position. Loosen the wheel bolts with the vehicle on the ground. Raise and support the vehicle on stands, then remove the wheel.
* The disc thickness must be measured at its thinnest point.

2. Measure the brake disc thickness. Use a special gauge or micrometer for this purpose, since wear causes a lip to form on the disc. The thickness can also be measured with a standard vernier caliper. In this case, place a spacer (for example, two coins) on each side of the disc.
* Measure at several points around the brake disc.

3. Brake disc dimensions are given in the Specifications.
4. If the disc has reached its minimum thickness, it must be replaced with a new one.
5. If the brake discs are worn to the minimum permissible thickness, the brake pad set may be installed once more.
6. If there are cracks or scoring, the brake disc must be replaced with a new one.
7. Install and secure the wheels. Do not lubricate the wheel bolts with oil. Install the wheels so that the marks made during removal align.
8. Lower the vehicle onto the wheels, then tighten the wheel bolts in a crisscross pattern to 100 N·m.
