Service interval indicator

Normally, vehicle maintenance is based on mileage alone.

For many years, the BMW Maintenance System has also taken operating conditions into account, because not all kilometers are equal:

100,000 km driven over short distances cannot be equated with 100,000 km driven over long distances.

The BMW Maintenance System is divided into service intervals OILSERVICE, INSPECTION I and II.

The planning of service intervals depending on vehicle usage intensity takes into account virtually the entire range of operating conditions. However, those who drive little (well under 10,000 km per year) should have an OILSERVICE performed at least once every two years, because engine oil ages regardless of how intensively the vehicle is used.
