Right-Hand and Left-Hand Traffic

When crossing a border into a country with a different direction of traffic, take the following measures to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic.

1. Remove the key from the ignition lock.

2. Turn counterclockwise and remove the covers on the rear of both headlamps.

The illustration shows the rear of a halogen headlamp. The cover on a xenon headlamp is somewhat smaller.

Left-hand drive vehicles with halogen or xenon headlamps / right-hand drive vehicles with halogen headlamps

► Left headlamp: lift lever 1 upward.
► Right headlamp: push lever 1 downward.

Right-hand drive vehicles with xenon headlamps

► Left headlamp: push lever 1 downward.
► Right headlamp: lift lever 1 upward.
