Side Airbags

SIDE AIRBAGS*
The side airbag modules are located in the front seatbacks on the door side.
Airbags are only a supplemental restraint system and are most effective when used together with seat belts.
To minimize the risk of serious injury or death in a collision, the driver and all passengers must wear seat belts regardless of whether the seating position is equipped with an airbag or not.
• Do not place any objects near or on the side airbag modules on the door side of the front seats. These objects can be thrown during airbag deployment and cause serious injury.
• Do not cover the front seats with additional protective covers.
They can prevent the side airbags from deploying properly in a collision, which can result in serious injury.
• Do not lean your head or body against the door. In a collision, the side airbag can strike a person with great force during deployment and cause serious injury.
• Do not install a child safety seat on the front passenger seat if the vehicle is equipped with a passenger side airbag.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death.
