In this manual: Seats and Passive Safety Systems
~1min read
For many years, many government and corporate research and development programs have focused on the safety of the driver and passengers.
The two vehicle components designed exclusively to protect the driver and passengers in a crash are the seat belts provided for each seat and the supplemental restraint system: the driver and front passenger airbags. Seat belts provide protection to the driver and passengers only when they are worn. The airbag is a supplemental restraint that is effective only when used together with seat belts.
