Child Safety Seat Lower Anchors

CHILD SAFETY SEAT LOWER ANCHORS
In the past, a child safety seat was secured to the seat with the seat belt.
As a result, the child seat was often installed or secured incorrectly and did not provide proper protection for the child. Our vehicles are equipped with lower child seat anchorages on the rear outboard seats, which allow the child seat to be secured directly to the vehicle body.
When installing a child seat that includes a system for attachment to the lower anchorages, follow the child seat manufacturer's instructions and the procedure "Child Seat Installation with Lower Anchorages" described later in this manual.
Be sure to read and strictly follow the instructions in this manual as well as the instructions of the child seat manufacturer.
You are responsible for your child's safety! For all questions related to the child safety seat and its installation, contact the child seat manufacturer.
You may also contact an authorized Chevrolet dealer for questions about installing a child seat in the vehicle.
Use the child seat anchorages only for their intended purpose.
The lower child seat anchorages are intended only for installing a child seat that includes a compatible attachment system.
• Do not use the lower child seat anchorages to secure adult seat belts, wiring harnesses, or other vehicle parts and equipment.
If the lower child seat anchorages are used to secure adult seat belts, wiring harnesses, or other vehicle parts and equipment, proper protection in a collision is not provided, which may result in injury or even death.
