SRS Maintenance
In theory, the supplemental restraint system (SRS) does not require maintenance.
However, have the SRS serviced immediately by an authorized Chevrolet dealer in the following cases.
• Any system component has deployed: an airbag has inflated or a seat belt pretensioner has activated.
• The airbag warning light indicates a malfunction.
See "AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT".
If the vehicle is equipped with side airbags, the front seat assembly must be replaced after a side airbag has deployed. For more information, contact an authorized Chevrolet dealer.
• Do not operate the vehicle after one or more airbags or seat belt pretensioners have deployed.
• Do not attempt to repair, modify, or remove airbags from the vehicle yourself.
• Improper work on the airbag system may cause explosive deployment, resulting in serious injury or death.
Tampering with the airbag system by untrained and unqualified persons may result in serious injury or death.
• If the airbags have deployed, if the vehicle has been damaged in or near an airbag module area, or if there are signs of an airbag malfunction, contact a Chevrolet dealer immediately.
Operating the vehicle after airbags or seat belt pretensioners have deployed without service at an authorized facility may result in serious injury or death.
