Access to the spare wheel

En cas de panne

The spare wheel is stored in the luggage compartment under the floor.

To access the spare wheel, first refer to the section on the onboard tool kit.

Depending on the version, the spare wheel is made of steel or aluminium.

For some markets, it is a "space-saver" type.

Removing the spare wheel

En cas de panne

► Unscrew the centre nut.

► Remove the fixing device (nut and bolt).

► Lift the spare wheel towards you from the rear.

► Remove the wheel from the luggage compartment.

Refitting the spare wheel

En cas de panne

► Refit the spare wheel in its housing.

► Unscrew the nut on the bolt by a few turns.

► Fit the fixing device (nut and bolt) to the centre of the wheel.

If there is no wheel in the well, the fixing device (nut and bolt) cannot be refitted.

Removing the wheel

Parking the vehicle

Immobilise the vehicle so that it does not obstruct traffic. The ground must be level, stable and non-slip.

With a manual gearbox, engage first gear to lock the wheels, apply the parking brake unless it is set to automatic mode, and switch off the ignition.

With an automatic transmission, select position P to lock the wheels, apply the parking brake, unless it is set to automatic mode, and switch off the ignition.

Check that the parking brake warning lights on the instrument cluster are on steadily.

Make sure all occupants have left the vehicle and are in a safe location.

If necessary, place a wheel chock under the wheel diagonally opposite the one being replaced.

Never get under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Use an axle stand.

Wheel with trim

When removing the wheel, first release the wheel trim using the wheel brace by pulling at the valve opening.

When refitting the wheel, fit the wheel trim starting with its notch aligned with the valve, then press firmly around its edge with the palm of your hand.

► To remove the wheel bolt cover from each bolt, use tool 7 (alloy wheels).

► Fit the locking wheel nut socket 2 onto wheel brace 5 to loosen the locking bolt.

Never use an impact wrench on the locking wheel nut socket.

En cas de panne

► Place the jack base 6 on the ground and make sure it is directly below jacking point A or B on the underbody, whichever is closest to the wheel being changed.

En cas de panne

► Raise the jack 6 until its head contacts jacking point A or B being used; the vehicle's support point A or B must be correctly seated in the centre of the jack head.

► Raise the vehicle until there is enough clearance between the wheel and the ground to easily fit the spare wheel (not punctured).

Make sure the jack is stable. On slippery or soft ground, the jack may slip or sink - Risk of injury! Only position the jack at points A or B under the vehicle, making sure the jack head is centred under the vehicle's support point. Otherwise, the vehicle may be damaged and/or the jack may collapse - Risk of injury!

En cas de panne

► Remove the bolts and keep them in a clean place.

► Remove the wheel.
