The following recommendations apply to both front and rear seat belts.

  • No changes may be made to the original safety system components: this applies to the belts, seats and their mountings. In special cases (e.g. installing a child seat), contact an authorised brand partner.
  • Do not use any additional items that could loosen the belts (e.g. clothes pegs, clips, etc.): in an accident, a loose seat belt may cause injury.
  • Never place the shoulder part of the belt under the arm or behind the back.
  • The belt may only be used to restrain one person per seat. Under no circumstances may the belt be fastened around a child seated on an adult's lap.
  • The belt must not be twisted.
  • After an accident, have the operation of the belts checked and replace them if necessary. Do the same with a belt that is not working correctly.
  • When folding and unfolding the rear seat, make sure the seat belts are correctly positioned so that they can perform their function properly.
  • Take care to insert the buckle into the correct buckle receptacle.
  • Do not place objects in the area of the belt buckle, as this may prevent it from working properly.
  • Check that the buckle is correctly positioned (it must not be hidden, pinched, or pressed by any person or object).
