Hood
Proceed as follows:
- Pull lever a, fig. 96, in the direction of the arrow;
- Pull lever b, fig. 97, and lift the bonnet.
- Lift the bonnet and at the same time remove the support rod c, fig. 98, from its locking device, then insert the end of the rod into the receptacle d on the bonnet.
Note: before lifting the bonnet, make sure the wiper arms are not raised.

Closing
Proceed as follows:
- Hold the bonnet up with one hand and with the other remove the support rod c, fig. 98, from receptacle d and reinsert it into its locking device;
- Lower the bonnet to about 20 centimetres above the engine compartment, then let it drop and lift it to make sure it is fully closed and not merely engaged in the safety position. In the latter case, one more press on the bonnet is not enough; the entire procedure must be repeated.
An incompletely closed bonnet is indicated by the lamp
or the symbol
on the instrument panel and
the appearance of a message on the display (see chapter "Warning lights and indicators").

NoteFor safety reasons, the bonnet must always be properly closed while driving. Therefore always check that the bonnet is correctly closed and that the latch is engaged. If you find while driving that the bonnet is not properly closed, stop immediately and close the bonnet correctly.
NoteCarry out these operations only with the vehicle stationary.
NoteIf the support rod is not correctly positioned, the bonnet may fall down.
