Electric windows
The sunroof is fitted with a safety system that can detect the possible presence of an obstacle when closing the sunroof; in this case, the closing movement of the sunroof is stopped immediately and the direction is reversed.
Note: if the anti-trapping device activates five times within 1 minute, the system automatically switches to the self-protection mode "recovery". This condition is indicated by the window moving up in jerks when closed.
In this case, the system must be reset as follows:
- Open the windows; or alternatively
- Turn the ignition key to STOP and then back to MAR.
If no faults are present, the window regulator automatically returns to normal operation.
Note: with the ignition key at STOP or the key removed, the window regulators remain active for approx. 2 minutes, but deactivate immediately when one of the doors is opened.
NoteThe system complies with standard 2000/4/EC on the protection of occupants who lean out.
Note: on some versions the sunroof opens if the button
on the
remote control key is pressed for longer than 2 seconds.
If, on the other hand, the button
is pressed for longer
than 2 seconds, the window closes.
