Tyre pressure monitoring system T.P.M.S.
The vehicle can be equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system T.P.M.S. (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). This system consists of a sensor mounted inside each tyre on all wheels, which can send information on each tyre's air pressure to the control unit by radio frequency.
NotePay close attention when checking or restoring tyre pressure.
Excessive tyre pressure reduces road grip, increases the loads on the suspension and wheels, and also causes abnormal tyre wear.
NoteCheck tyre pressure when the tyres are cold and have been stationary. If you check tyre pressure on warm tyres for any reason, do not reduce the inflation pressure even if it exceeds the specified value; repeat the check once the tyres have cooled down.
NoteThe T.P.M.S. system does not relieve the driver of the need to regularly check the inflation pressure of the tyres and the spare wheel (see the "Wheels" section in the "Maintenance and care" chapter).
Notes on using the T.P.M.S. systemFault messages are not stored and therefore are not displayed before the ignition is switched off and the engine is started again. If the fault persists, the control unit sends the corresponding fault messages to the instrument panel after the vehicle has been driven for a short time.
NoteThe T.P.M.S. system cannot indicate sudden tyre pressure loss (for example, if a tyre bursts). In this case, bring the vehicle to a stop by braking gently and avoid sudden steering manoeuvres.
NoteChanging between summer and winter tyres, and vice versa, also requires adjustment of the T.P.M.S. system, which must only be carried out by an authorised Fiat Service Network dealer.
NoteThe T.P.M.S. system requires the use of special equipment. Ask the Fiat Service Network which accessories are compatible with the system (wheels, wheel trims, etc.). The use of other accessories may interfere with the normal operation of the system.
NoteTyre pressure can change due to outside temperature. The T.P.M.S.
may temporarily indicate insufficient inflation pressure. In this case, check the pressure of the cold tyres and restore the tyre pressure values if necessary.
NoteIf the vehicle is equipped with the T.P.M.S. system, it is recommended to also replace the rubber valve seal whenever a tyre is removed.
Please contact the Fiat Service Network for this.
NoteIf the vehicle is equipped with the T.P.M.S. system, fitting and removing tyres and/or wheel rims requires special precautions.
To avoid accidental damage to or incorrect fitting of the sensors, tyre and/or wheel changes must only be carried out by qualified personnel. Please contact the Fiat Service Network for this.
NoteParticularly strong radio frequency interference can disrupt correct operation of the T.P.M.S. system. This condition is indicated to the driver by the warning light
or
the symbol on the instrument panel, together with a message on the display. This indication disappears automatically as soon as the radio frequency interference no longer affects the system.
For correct use of the system, refer to the following table when changing a wheel/tyre:

(*) Alternative specified in the owner's manual, available from Lineaccessori Fiat.
(**) Not crosswise (the tyres must stay on the same side).
