Emergency rear door locking device

Emergency rear door locking device fig. 81
The rear doors are fitted with a device that allows them to be locked in the event of a power failure.
In this case, proceed as follows:
- Insert the metal insert of the ignition key into socket a;
- Turn the key clockwise and then remove it from socket a.
The door handles on the locks are realigned as follows (only once the battery charge has been restored):
- Press the button

of the key; - Press the lock/unlock button
of the doors on the
dashboard; - unlocking with the key on the lock cylinder of the front door;
- Pull the inside door handle.
Note: if the child safety lock is engaged and the door has been locked as described above, operating the inside door handle will not open the door, but will only reset the lock handle.
To open the door, pull the outside door handle. The emergency lock does not deactivate the central locking/unlocking button
.
Note: if the battery has been disconnected or the fuse has been blown, the door opening/locking mechanism must be "initialised" as follows:
- Close all doors;
- The button
on the
key or the lock/unlock button
press the
doors button on the dashboard; - The button
on the
key or the lock/unlock button
press the
button on the dashboard.
NoteDo not engage the child safety lock if the emergency locking device for the rear doors is already engaged.
If both devices have been activated: to open the door, operate the inside door handle to deactivate the emergency unlocking of the rear doors, then open the door with the outside door handle.
