Ford Escape. Connected Vehicle DataThe modem contains a SIM card. The modem was switched on when your vehicle was built and periodically sends messages to stay in contact with the cellular network, automatically receive software updates, and send us vehicle-related information, such as diagnostic information. These messages may include information that identifies your vehicle, the SIM card and the modem electronic serial number. Cellular network service providers may have access to additional information, such as the cell tower identification of the telephone network.
