Headlamps - Troubleshooting
Headlamps - Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there condensation in the headlamps?
Headlamps have vents to adjust to normal changes in air pressure. Condensation can be a natural by-product of this design. When humid air enters the lamp assembly through the vents, condensation can form at low temperatures. When normal condensation occurs, a fine mist may form inside the lens. Eventually the mist dissipates and exits through the vents during normal operation.
What amount of condensation is acceptable?
A thin mist, for example without streaks, drips or large droplets. A fine mist covers less than 50% of the lens.
How long can it take for acceptable condensation to clear?
Clearing can take up to 48 hours in dry weather.
What amount of condensation is not acceptable?
Water pooling inside the lamp. Streaks, drip marks or large droplets present on the inside of the lens.
What to do if unacceptable condensation is present?
Have your vehicle checked as soon as possible.
Why do my headlamps turn off when they are on when I switch my vehicle off?
The battery saver feature turns the headlamps off after a short period of time after you switch the vehicle off.
