Hood Opening

Ford Escape. Opening and Closing the Hood
  1. Open the driver-side front door.
  2. Fully pull the hood release lever and allow it to fully return.
  3. Fully pull the hood release lever a second time.
  4. Open the hood.

  5. Support the hood with the prop rod.

Hood Closing

  1. Remove the prop rod from its retainer and secure it properly in the clip.
  2. Lower the hood and let it close under its own weight to 10-14 in (25-35 cm).

Warning Lights and Indicators
