All seating positions in this vehicle are equipped with lap and shoulder seat belts. All vehicle occupants must wear their seat belts properly, even when a supplemental restraint system (airbag) is provided.
The seat belt system consists of:
Lap and shoulder seat belts.
Shoulder seat belt with automatic locking mode, except for the driver's seat belt.
Height adjusters on the front outboard seating positions.
Seat belt pretensioners on the front outboard and rear outboard second-row seating positions.
Seat belt tension sensor on the front passenger seating position.
Unbuckled seat belt warning lamp and chime.
Crash sensors and monitoring system with ready indicator.
Seat belt pretensioners are designed to tighten the seat belts when activated. In frontal and near-frontal collisions, the seat belt pretensioners may be activated alone or, if the crash is severe enough, together with the front airbags. The pretensioners may also activate when the Safety Canopy airbag deploys.
