Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Inspect the mating surfaces of the carburetor and intake manifold, and clean them if necessary.
2. Install a new carburetor gasket on the intake manifold.
3. Carefully install the carburetor on the intake manifold.
4. Gradually tighten the carburetor mounting bolts in turn, so that the gasket is compressed evenly. The bolts must be tightened securely to prevent air leakage between the carburetor and intake manifold.
5. Connect the accelerator cable, vacuum hoses and fuel supply hoses.
6. Check that the vacuum hoses are securely connected.
7. Check that the choke valve fully opens and closes.
8. Check that the throttle valve fully opens when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
9. Install the air filter.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.

Before the first start, do not pour fuel into the carburetor air horn to speed up engine starting after servicing the fuel system. To supply fuel, crank the engine with the starter.

11. Check the idle speed and adjust it if necessary.
