Fuel system

Inspection

~1min read

Inspect the condition and replace or, if necessary, repair the following parts.

PROCEDURE

1. Check that the air and fuel jets are not clogged. If clogged, clean them in solvent and blow out with compressed air. Do not use wire to clean them.
2. Check the diaphragms for damage and cracks.
3. Make sure the needle valve moves freely. If the valve moves with difficulty or sticks, repair or replace it.
4. Check that the inlet fuel filter located above the needle valve is not clogged.
5. Check the float travel.
6. Check the operation of the throttle valve, choke valve and linkage. If they move with difficulty, clean them and lubricate their shafts with clean engine oil.
7. Check the float chamber cover and carburetor body for damage and cracks.
