Radial Tires
Radial tires provide improved tread life, resistance to road hazards, and a smooth ride at high speeds. The radial tires used on this vehicle have a belted construction and are selected to complement the handling and steering response of your vehicle.
Radial tires have the same load capacity as bias-ply and belted-bias tires of the same size and use the same recommended inflation pressure. Mixing radial tires with bias-ply or belted-bias tires is not recommended. Any combination of radial and bias-ply or belted-bias tires used on the same vehicle will seriously affect vehicle handling. The best rule to follow is: identical pairs of radial tires should always be used as a set for the front tires and a set for the rear tires.
Tires with longer tread life may be more prone to uneven tread wear. It is very important to follow the tire rotation interval in this chapter to achieve the potential tread life of these tires. Cuts and punctures in radial-ply tires can only be repaired in the tread area, because of flexing of the sidewall. Consult your tire dealer for radial tire repair.
WARNING
Never mix bias-ply and radial tires under any circumstances. This may cause unusual handling characteristics that could result in loss of vehicle control and an accident.
