EPB Malfunction Indicator

~1min read

If the EPB warning light stays on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the engine Start/Stop button is in the ON position, this indicates that the EPB may have malfunctioned. Have your vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.

The EPB warning light may come on when the ESC warning light comes on, indicating that the ESC is not operating properly. However, this does not indicate a malfunction of the EPB.

CAUTION

  • If the EPB warning light remains on, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • If the parking brake warning light does not come on or flashes even though the EPB switch has been pulled up, the EPB may not be applied.
  • If the parking brake warning light flashes when the EPB warning light is on, press the EPB switch, then pull it. Press the switch again to return it to its original position and pull it back. If the EPB warning light does not turn off, have the vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
