Tire Rotation

~1min read

To even out tread wear, HYUNDAI recommends rotating the tires every 7,500 miles (12,000 km) or sooner if uneven wear develops.

When rotating, check the tires for proper balance.

When rotating tires, check for uneven wear and damage. Abnormal wear is usually caused by incorrect tire pressure, incorrect wheel alignment, unbalanced wheels, hard braking or sharp cornering. Look for bulges or bumps on the tread or sidewall. Replace the tire if you find any of these conditions. Replace the tire if fabric or cord is visible. After rotation, be sure to adjust the front and rear tire pressures to specification and check the wheel nut tightening torque (correct torque 65-79 lb.ft [9-11 kgf.m]).

Disc brake pads must be checked for wear whenever the tires are rotated.

✽ NOTICE

If your tire is directional, check the markings on the outside and inside of the tire.

If an inside tire is installed on the outside, vehicle handling and tire wear performance may be impaired.

WARNING

  • Do not use the compact spare tire for tire rotation.
  • Never mix bias-ply and radial tires on the vehicle under any circumstances. This may cause unusual handling characteristics that can result in loss of vehicle control and an accident.
