Hyundai Palisade. Warning and System Control

If a vehicle is detected within the system boundary, the warning light will illuminate on the outside rearview mirror and the projection display (if equipped).

If the detected vehicle is no longer in the blind-spot area, the warning will turn off depending on the driving condition of the vehicle.

Second-Stage Warning

The warning chime to alert the driver sounds when:

1. The radar system has detected a vehicle in the blind spot.

2. The turn signal is activated (on the same side as the detected vehicle).

When this warning is activated, the warning indicator on the outside rearview mirror will illuminate, and the head-up display (if equipped) will also flash. A warning chime will also sound.

If you turn off the turn signal indicator, the second-stage warning will be deactivated.

If the detected vehicle is no longer in the blind spot, the warning will turn off depending on the driving conditions of the vehicle.

WARNING

  • The warning indicator on the outside rearview mirror will illuminate whenever a vehicle is detected on the rear side of the system. To avoid accidents, do not focus only on the warning light and neglect checking the surroundings of the vehicle.
  • Drive safely even if the vehicle is equipped with the Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system. Do not rely only on the system; check your surroundings before changing lanes or moving the vehicle backward.
  • The system may not warn the driver in some situations due to system limitations, so always check your surroundings while driving.

CAUTION

  • Always pay attention to the road and driving conditions while driving, regardless of whether the warning indicator on the outside rearview mirror is illuminated or a warning alarm sounds.
  • Playing the vehicle audio system at high volume may prevent occupants from hearing the Blind-Spot Collision Warning system alert sounds.
  • If another warning sound, such as the seat belt reminder chime, has already been generated, the Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system warning may not sound.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) System

Hyundai Palisade. Warning and System Control

The Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) system may apply braking power when a vehicle is detected within a certain distance beside or behind your vehicle.

In this situation, the system gently applies braking force to the wheel on the opposite side of the possible collision point. The instrument panel will notify the driver that the system is active.

The Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) system is automatically deactivated when:

- The vehicle has traveled a certain distance away
- The direction of the vehicle has changed relative to the possible collision point
- The steering wheel is turned sharply
- The brake pedal is depressed
- A certain amount of time has elapsed

The driver should drive the vehicle in the middle of the traffic lane to keep the system in a ready state.

When the vehicle approaches too close to one side of the traffic lane, the system may not operate properly.

In addition, the system may not control the vehicle properly depending on road conditions. Therefore, always pay close attention to road conditions.

WARNING

  • The driver is responsible for accurate steering.
  • Do not operate the steering wheel unnecessarily while the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system is operating.
  • Always pay attention to the road and traffic conditions while driving. The Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system may not operate, or may operate unnecessarily, depending on certain situations.
  • The Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system does not replace safe driving practices; it is a supplementary system only. It is the driver's responsibility to always drive carefully to prevent unexpected and sudden situations from occurring. Pay attention to road conditions at all times.
