Tire Replacement

If tire wear is regular, you may see the tread wear indicator, which appears as a bar across the tread. This indicator shows that less than 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) of tread remains, and the tire must be replaced.
Do not wait until the bar appears across the entire tread to replace the tire.
WARNING
When replacing tires, check and retighten the wheel nuts after approximately 1,000 km (620 miles). If the steering wheel or the vehicle vibrates while driving, the tire is out of balance. Balance the tire. If the problem persists, it is recommended that you contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- Driving on worn tires is an extremely dangerous practice, as it reduces braking efficiency, steering precision and road grip.
- Your vehicle is equipped with tires designed to provide safe driving and optimum road grip. Do not install tires or wheels of a size or type other than the original ones, as this may compromise safety and the performance of your vehicle, resulting in loss of control, which may cause a rollover or serious injury.
When replacing tires, always install tires of the same size, type, tread pattern, brand and load rating on all four wheels. - Using tires of a different size or type may seriously affect ride comfort, handling, ground clearance, braking distance, clearance between the body and the tire, clearance between the snow tire and the wheel arch, and the accuracy of the speedometer.
- It is best to replace all four tires at the same time. If this is not possible (or necessary), replace both front or both rear tires at the same time. Replacing only one tire may seriously affect the handling of your vehicle.
- The ABS compares wheel speeds. However, tire size can affect wheel rotational speed. Always use tires with sizes identical to the original tires. Using tires of different sizes may cause a malfunction of the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) (if equipped).
Compact Spare Tire Replacement (if equipped)
The compact spare tire has a shorter service life than a standard tire. It must be replaced when the tread wear indicators become visible. The spare tire must be of the same size as the original and must be installed on the compact spare wheel. The compact spare tire is not designed for installation on a standard-size wheel, just as a standard-size tire is not designed for installation on a compact spare wheel.
