Opening or Unlocking the Tailgate

To open:

1. Make sure you have the Smart Key in your possession.

2. Press the tailgate open/close button on the vehicle, or press and hold the tailgate open button 3 on the Smart Key for more than 1 second. The hazard warning lights flash twice and the tailgate is unlocked.

3. Pull up on the tailgate handle to open it. If your vehicle is equipped with a power tailgate, the tailgate opens automatically.

Remote Engine Start (if equipped)

To start the vehicle remotely:

1. Press the lock button on the Smart Key. You must be within approximately 32 ft. (10 m) of the vehicle.

2. Press and hold the remote start button 7 on the Smart Key. You must press the button within 4 seconds after pressing the door lock button. The hazard warning lights flash and the engine starts.

3. To stop the engine, press the remote start button 7 once.

Information

• The vehicle must be in P (Park) for the remote start function to start the engine.
• The engine stops if you enter the vehicle without a registered Smart Key.
• The engine will stop if you do not enter the vehicle within 10 minutes after remote starting.
• The remote start button may not operate if the Smart Key is not within 32 ft. (10 m) of the vehicle.
• The vehicle cannot be started remotely if the hood or tailgate is open.
• Do not leave the engine idling for extended periods.
