EPB Malfunction Indicator
.jpg)
This indicator illuminates when the ENGINE START/STOP button is turned to the ON position and turns off after approximately 3 seconds if the system is operating normally.
If the EPB malfunction indicator stays on, illuminates while driving, or does not illuminate when the ENGINE START/STOP button is turned to the ON position, the EPB may be malfunctioning.
If this occurs, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.
The EPB warning light may come on when the ESC warning light comes on, indicating that the ESC is not operating properly. However, this does not indicate a malfunction of the EPB.
CAUTION
- The EPB warning light may illuminate if the EPB switch operates abnormally. Turn off the engine and turn it on again after a few minutes. The warning light will turn off and the EPB switch will operate normally. However, if the EPB warning light remains on, have the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
- If the parking brake warning light does not illuminate or flashes even though the EPB switch has been pulled up, the EPB is not applied.
- If the parking brake warning light flashes while the EPB warning light is illuminated, press the EPB switch, then pull it up. Press it back to its original position again and pull it up once more. If the EPB warning light does not turn off, have the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
