Description and Operation

Description

Mounted on the windshield, the auto defog sensor evaluates the humidity and sends a signal to direct airflow to prevent fogging when moisture is detected. When the signal is received, the A/C control module removes moisture and eliminates fog by controlling the intake actuator, A/C, automatic defog actuator, blower motor speed, and mode actuator.

Repair Procedures

Inspection

To inspect and diagnose the sensor, refer to the self-diagnosis procedure and DTC guide.
