FCA Front Radar / Camera Sensor

For the FCA system to operate properly, always check that the sensor cover is clean and free of dirt, snow, and debris. Dirt, snow, or foreign material on the lens may adversely affect sensor performance.
✽ NOTICE
- Do not install any accessories, such as a license plate bracket or bumper sticker, near the sensor. Do not replace the bumper yourself. Doing so may adversely affect sensor performance.
- Always keep the sensor/bumper area clean.
- Use only a soft cloth when washing the vehicle. Also, do not spray high-pressure water directly at the sensor mounted on the bumper.
- Be careful not to apply unnecessary force to the area around the front sensor. If the sensor is moved from its correct position due to external force, the system may malfunction and may not display a warning light or message. In this case, we recommend having the vehicle inspected at an authorized Kia dealer.
- Use only a genuine Kia sensor cover. Do not paint the sensor cover arbitrarily.
- Do not tint the windshield or attach stickers or accessories around the inside rearview mirror area where the camera is installed.
- Make sure the front camera installation area does not get wet.
- Do not strike or arbitrarily remove radar/camera components.
- Do not place reflective objects (white paper, mirror, etc.) on the instrument panel. The system may activate unnecessarily due to reflection of sunlight.
- Excessive audio system volume may prevent passengers from hearing the FCA system warning alarm.
Warning Message and Indicator

When the sensor is covered or the sensor lens is contaminated with foreign substances such as snow or rain, the FCA system may not be able to detect vehicles or pedestrians. In this case, a warning message ("Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) Malfunction. Radar Blocked") will appear to notify the driver. Remove the foreign substances to restore normal FCA system operation.
Remove any dirt, snow, or debris and clean the radar sensor cover before operating the FCA system.
FCA may not operate properly in areas (for example, open areas) where any substances are not detected after the engine is started.
