Driving Your Vehicle

Brake Operation

~1min read
  • In an emergency situation, the brake system enters a standby state to respond quickly when the driver presses the brake pedal.
  • FCA provides additional braking force for optimal braking efficiency when the driver depresses the brake pedal.
  • Brake control is automatically canceled when the driver rapidly presses the accelerator pedal, or when the driver sharply turns the steering wheel.
  • Brake control is automatically canceled when the risk factors disappear.

The driver must always exercise caution when driving, even if there is no warning message or warning chime.

WARNING

FCA is a supplemental system and cannot completely stop the vehicle in all situations or avoid all collisions. The driver is responsible for driving and operating the vehicle safely.

WARNING

Never drive with a dangerous intent to activate the system, as this increases the risk of an accident.

✽ NOTICE

The FCA system assesses the risk of a collision by monitoring several variables, such as the distance to the vehicle/pedestrian ahead, the speed of the vehicle/pedestrian ahead, and the driver's operation of the vehicle. Certain conditions, such as adverse weather and road conditions, may affect FCA system operation.
