Kia Stinger: Fuel System / High Pressure Fuel Pump

Release the residual pressure in the fuel line.

Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

Disconnect the fuel pressure control valve connector (B) and the quick connector of the fuel feed tube (A).

Remove the high pressure fuel tube.

Remove the mounting bolts (A) and remove the high pressure fuel pump assembly from the cylinder head.

NOTE

Before installing the high pressure fuel pump, rotate the crankshaft to set the roller tappet to the lowest position. Otherwise, the mounting bolts may break due to the tension of the pump spring.
Do not reuse the bolts.
Do not reuse the high pressure fuel lines.
When tightening the high pressure fuel pump mounting bolts, first hand-tighten the bolts, then tighten them in sequence in small steps (0.5 turn).
Install the component to the specified torque.
First, hand-tighten the fasteners until they can no longer be tightened by hand, then fully tighten them to the specified torque using a torque wrench.

If bolts or nuts are not tightened in a straight line from the bolt holes or fittings, fuel leakage may occur due to damaged threads.
Note that internal damage may occur if the component is dropped. In this case, inspect it before use.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE
Use the special service tool [SST No.: 09314-3Q100] to install the high-pressure fuel line.
