Description and Operation

Description

The fresh air/recirculation air actuator is located on the heater unit. It controls the intake door based on signals from the control unit. Pressing the fresh air/recirculation air switch changes the mode between recirculation and fresh air intake.

repair procedures

TEST

  1. Turn the ignition off.

  2. Disconnect the connector of the fresh air/recirculation air actuator.

  3. Check that the intake actuator is in the fresh air position (left-hand drive) or recirculation position (right-hand drive) when 12 V is applied to terminal 4 and ground to terminal 3.

Check that the intake actuator is in the recirculation position (left-hand drive) or fresh air position (right-hand drive) when the terminals are reversed.

  4. Connect the connector of the fresh air/recirculation air actuator.

  5. Turn the ignition switch on:

  6. To do this, measure the voltage between terminals 6 and 5 (left-hand drive) or 7 (right-hand drive).

    SPECIFICATIONS

Door position VOLTAGE (V) Fault detection
fresh air mode 0,5 Low voltage: 0.1 V or less
recirculation mode 4,5 High voltage: 4.9 V or more
  7. If the fresh air/recirculation air actuator does not operate properly, replace it with a known good actuator and check that it operates correctly.

8th.

If the problem is resolved, replace the fresh air/recirculation air actuator.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

  2. Remove the glove box.

(Refer to Body - "Glove Box Housing")

  3. Disconnect the connector (A), then remove the fresh air/recirculation air actuator (B) after loosening the mounting bolts.

  4. Installation is the reverse of removal.
