System Setting and Activation
System Settings
The driver can activate FCA by turning the ignition switch to the ON position and selecting "User Settings" > "Driver Assistance" > "Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist". FCA will be deactivated when the driver turns off the system.

The FCA indicator light illuminates on the LCD display when you deactivate the FCA system.
The driver can check the FCA ON/OFF status on the LCD display. If the indicator light illuminates when FCA is off, have the system checked at an authorized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer or authorized service partner.
In the User Settings and Driver Assistance menu of the LCD display in the instrument cluster, the driver can select the timing for the initial warning. For the forward collision warning system, the following options are available:
• EARLY - When this option is selected, the forward collision warning system activates earlier than normal. This setting provides a greater distance between your vehicle and a vehicle or pedestrian ahead before the initial warning is triggered.
• NORMAL - When this option is selected, the forward collision warning system activates at the normal time. This setting provides a standard distance between your vehicle and a vehicle or pedestrian ahead before the initial warning is triggered.
• LATE - When this option is selected, the forward collision warning system activates later than normal. This setting reduces the distance between your vehicle and a vehicle or pedestrian ahead before the initial warning is triggered.
Activation Requirements
The FCA function is activated when FCA is selected on the LCD display and the following conditions are met.
- ESC is activated.
- Vehicle speed is above 10 km/h. (However, the FCA function is turned on within a certain speed range relative to the ground.)
- When a vehicle or pedestrian is detected ahead of your vehicle. (However, the FCA function will be deactivated due to conditions ahead of the vehicle and the vehicle system is not activated. It only recognizes certain warnings.)
WARNING
- The FCA function operates automatically when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. The driver can deactivate the FCA function through the LCD display system settings.
- The FCA system is turned off when the ESC system is turned off, and it is automatically disabled and cannot be activated through the LCD display.
- Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the FCA function using the steering wheel controls.
