Description and Operation

Description

The SRSCM monitors the status of the driver and front passenger seat belt buckles. Accordingly, a contact in the SRSCM is designed to input the status signal of the driver and front passenger seat belt buckles. The seat belt buckle circuit operates with an internal elevated voltage supplied by the SRSCM and uses body ground for signal return. Activation by the SRSCM depends on the buckle status. If the seat belt is not fastened, the corresponding seat belt pretensioner is not deactivated.
