Beschreibung

  • The Side Impact Sensor (SIS) system consists of two pressure side impact sensors (P-SIS), located in the center of the two front door modules (left and right), two SIS located in the B-pillars (left and right), and two rear SIS located in the C-pillars (left and right).

  • The pressure side impact sensor, also called P-SIS, detects pressure in a collision at its mounting position.

  • The side impact sensor, also called A-SIS, detects acceleration forces.

  • In a collision, the SRSCM determines whether the airbag will deploy based on the collision signal from the SIS, and sets the timing of deployment.

Repair Procedures

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Pressure Side Impact Sensor (P-SIS)

  1. Batteriemasseklemme abklemmen und vor Beginn der Arbeiten mindestens dreißig Sekunden warten.

  2. Vordere Türverkleidung abbauen.

    (Siehe Karosserie - "Vordertürverkleidung")

  3. Remove the pressure side impact sensor (A).

  4. Loosen the side pressure impact sensor mounting bolt and remove the sensor (A).

    Anzugsdrehmoment: 3,0 - 4 N·m

  5. Der Einbau erfolgt in der umgekehrten Reihenfolge des Ausbaus.

Front Impact Acceleration Side Sensor (G-SIS)

  1. Batteriemasseklemme abklemmen und vor Beginn der Arbeiten mindestens dreißig Sekunden warten.

  2. B-Säulenverkleidung abbauen.

    (Siehe Karosserie - "B-Säulenverkleidung")

  3. Steckverbinder (A) des Seitenaufprallsensors abziehen und Schraube (B) lösen, dann Sensor entfernen.

    Anzugsdrehmoment: 3,0 - 4 N·m
