Beschreibung

The main task of the SRSCM (Supplemental Restraint System Control Module) is to distinguish between events in which deployment of the airbag system is justified and events in which it is not. The SRSCM must decide whether the restraint system is to be fired or not. If it is determined that activation or ignition of the pretensioner and/or airbag is required, the SRSCM must supply sufficient energy to the seat belt pretensioners and airbag igniters so that deployment can be initiated.

The SRSCM determines, based on data it receives from the impact sensors and other components, and in conjunction with a safing function, whether pretensioners and airbags need to be triggered in a possible impact.

The SRSCM is ready to detect a collision and activate restraint devices only after the signals in the SRSCM circuits and wiring have stabilized.

It is technically possible for the SRSCM to activate the restraint devices within approx. 2 seconds of activity; however, full functionality of these systems is only guaranteed after the mandatory requirement has been verified.

The SRSCM must perform a diagnostic routine and cause the system ready indicator to illuminate after the ignition is turned on. The system must run a continuous diagnostic program and display malfunction messages via a warning lamp as soon as a fault occurs. To facilitate maintenance of the restraint control system, a series diagnostic communication interface is used.

Repair Procedures

Removal

1. 1

   Zündung aus dem Fahrzeug ausbauen.

2. 2

   Batteriemasseklemme abklemmen und vor Beginn der Arbeiten mindestens dreißig Sekunden warten.

3. 3

   Bodenkonsole ausbauen.

   (Siehe Kapitel Karosserie - "Bodenkonsole")

4. 4

   Steckverbinder (A) des Steuergeräts für zusätzliches Rückhaltesystem (SRSCM) abziehen.

   

5. 5

   Die Schraube (A) und die Muttern (B) lösen, dann das Steuergerät für zusätzliches Rückhaltesystem (SRSCM) ausbauen.

   

Installation

1. 1

   Zündung aus dem Fahrzeug ausbauen.

2. 2

   Batteriemasseklemme abklemmen und vor Beginn der Arbeiten mindestens dreißig Sekunden warten.

3. 3

   Install the SRSCM with the SRSCM mounting bolts (A) and nuts (B).

   Anzugsdrehmoment: 8,0 - 14 N·m

   SRSCM connector clip.

   Bodenkonsole einbauen.

   Batteriemassekabel (-) wieder anschließen.

7. 7

   Nach dem Einbau des SRSCM eine Funktionsprüfung durchführen:

   Zündung einschalten; SRS-Kontrollleuchte muss während der Initialisierung 6 Sekunden lang aufleuchten und danach ausgehen.

Wenn das SRCM ersetzt wurde, muss die "Variantencodierung" durchgeführt werden.

   Zündung "EIN" und Motor "AUS" Fahrzeugname und Airbag-System auswählen.
