Automatic Restart

To restart the engine after an automatic stop while the vehicle is stationary

• Press the clutch pedal when the shift lever is in N (neutral).
• The message "Press clutch pedal for Auto Start" will appear on the LCD. (if equipped)
• The engine will start and the AUTO STOP indicator () on the instrument cluster will turn off.

The engine will restart automatically, without any action by the driver, if the following occurs:

• The manual air conditioner blower fan is set to a speed higher than the 3rd position while the air conditioner is operating.
• The automatic air conditioner blower fan is set to a speed higher than the 6th position while the air conditioner is operating.
• After a certain period of time with the air conditioner operating.
• When the rear window defroster is activated.
• The brake vacuum is low.
• The battery state of charge is low.
• The vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h.

The green AUTO STOP (Engine auto stop) indicator () on the instrument cluster flashes for 5 seconds and the message "Engine restart" is displayed on the LCD. (if equipped)
