Good driving practices

  • Never go downhill in neutral.

It is very dangerous. Leave the gear engaged.
  • Do not overuse the brakes, to avoid overheating and possible malfunctions. When driving down long descents, reduce speed and shift to a lower gear. In this way, engine braking helps slow the vehicle.
  • Slow down before downshifting, to avoid over-revving the engine and possible damage.
  • Slow down in crosswinds. This ensures much better control of your vehicle.
  • Make sure the vehicle is completely stopped before attempting to engage reverse. Otherwise the transmission could be damaged. To engage reverse, press the clutch pedal, move the gear lever to neutral, then engage reverse.
  • Exercise the utmost caution when driving on slippery surfaces, especially when braking, accelerating or changing gears. On slippery surfaces, a sudden change in vehicle speed can cause the driven wheels to lose traction and the vehicle to lose control.
  • WARNING

    • Always wear your seat belt! In a collision, an occupant not wearing a seat belt is more likely to suffer serious or fatal injuries than one who is wearing it correctly.
    • Limit your speed when cornering or turning.
    • Do not make sudden steering movements, such as abrupt lane changes or fast, tight turns.
    • The risk of rollover is significantly higher if the vehicle is lost of control at high speed.
    • Loss of control often occurs when two or more wheels leave the road surface and the driver oversteers to get back on the road.
    • If the vehicle leaves the road surface, do not steer abruptly. Slow down before attempting to return to the roadway.
    • Never exceed the posted speed limits.
