Windshield Washer Fluid Level Check The reservoir is transparent so that the level can be checked with a quick visual inspection.

Check the fluid level in the reservoir and top up if necessary.

If washer fluid is not available, pure water can be used. However, in cold climates use a fluid with antifreeze properties to prevent it from freezing.

WARNING - Coolant

  • Do not pour radiator coolant or antifreeze into the washer fluid reservoir.
  • Engine coolant can seriously obstruct visibility when sprayed onto the windshield, possibly causing loss of control and damage to paint and bodywork.
  • Windshield washer fluid contains alcohol and under certain conditions may catch fire. Do not allow windshield washer fluid, or its reservoir, to come into contact with flames or sparks. This could create a hazard to the vehicle and its occupants.
  • Windshield washer fluid is toxic to people and animals. Do not swallow windshield washer fluid and avoid any contact with it. The consequences could even be fatal.
