Low tire pressure warning light

~1min read

Low tire pressure warning light. When the TPMS warning light illuminates, it means the pressure in one or more tires is significantly low. Reduce speed immediately, avoid sharp steering maneuvers and expect a longer braking distance. Stop the vehicle as soon as possible and check the tires. Inflate the tires to the proper pressure, as shown on the label in the vehicle or on the tire pressure label located on the driver's side center pillar. If there is no service station nearby, or if the tire does not hold air after inflation, replace the damaged tire with the spare tire.

The TPMS malfunction indicator and the low tire pressure warning light may then illuminate and stay on after restarting and driving for about 20 minutes, until the tire with low pressure is repaired or replaced.

CAUTION In winter or in low ambient temperatures, the low tire pressure warning light may illuminate if the tire pressure was adjusted to the recommended pressure in high temperatures. This does not mean the TPMS is malfunctioning, because lower temperatures cause a proportional drop in tire pressure.

When driving a vehicle from an area with high temperatures to an area with low temperatures, or vice versa, or when the outside temperature is significantly lower or higher, check the tire pressure and adjust it to the recommended value.

WARNING - Low tire pressure Significantly low tire pressure makes the vehicle unstable and may lead to loss of vehicle control and increased braking distance.

Continuing to drive with low tire pressure will cause the tire to overheat and be destroyed.
