Diesel Fuel
The diesel engine must run only on commercially available diesel fuel that meets the requirements of standard EN 590 or equivalent standards. (EN stands for "European Standard".) Do not use marine diesel, heating oil or unapproved additives, as this may increase wear or cause damage to the engine and the engine fuel system.
Use of unapproved fuels and/or additives may result in the limitation of your warranty rights.
The vehicle uses diesel fuel with a cetane number of 51.
If two types of diesel fuel are available, use summer or winter diesel as appropriate for the ambient temperature.
- Above -5°C (23°F) ... Summer diesel fuel.
- Below -5°C (23°F) ... Winter diesel fuel.
Check the fuel level in the fuel tank very carefully. If the engine stops due to faulty fuel, the fuel system must be completely purged before the engine can be restarted.
CAUTION Do not allow gasoline or water to get into the fuel tank.If this happens, it is necessary to drain the fuel and bleed the fuel lines to prevent the injection pump from seizing and the engine from being damaged.
CAUTION - DIESEL FUEL (if equipped with DPF) For vehicles equipped with a DPF system, use diesel fuel that complies with the requirements of national laws and standards. If the user uses diesel fuel with a high sulphur content (more than 50 parts of sulphur per million) and additives that do not meet the technical requirements, the DPF system will be damaged and white smoke will be emitted.
