NOTE Hot waxes used by automatic car washes are known to make wiper blades difficult to clean.

Contamination on the windshield or wiper blades can reduce wiper performance. The most common contaminants are insects, tree sap, and wax used in some automatic car washes. If the wiper blades do not wipe the glass properly, clean both the windshield and the wiper blades with a good cleaning agent or mild detergent, then rinse them with clean water.

CAUTION Do not use gasoline, kerosene, paint thinner or other solvents to clean the wiper blades, and do not bring them near the wiper blades.
