Checking the Brake Fluid Level

Check the fluid level in the reservoir periodically. It should be between the MAX (Maximum) and MIN (Minimum) marks on the side of the reservoir.
Before removing the reservoir cap and adding brake fluid, thoroughly clean the area around the cap to prevent contamination of the brake fluid.
If the level is low, add fluid up to the MAX (Maximum) mark.
The level will drop as mileage increases. This is normal and is related to brake pad wear. If the fluid level is too low, have the brake system checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
Use only the specified brake fluid. (Refer to "Recommended Lubricants" in Chapter 8.)
Never mix different types of fluid.
WARNING - Brake Fluid Loss If the brake system requires frequent brake fluid top-ups, have the system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer. WARNING - Brake Fluid Take care when replacing or adding brake fluid. Keep the fluid out of your eyes. If brake fluid gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with plenty of clean running water.Seek medical attention as soon as possible to have your eyes examined.
CAUTION Be careful not to let brake fluid contact painted surfaces, as it may damage the paint. Never use brake fluid that has been exposed to air for a long time, as its quality cannot be guaranteed. Dispose of fluid properly. Never fill with the wrong type of fluid. A few drops of mineral oil, such as engine oil, in the brake system can damage brake system components.Test yourself
